Complete privacy. Free.

Coming soon on the Mac App Store

Features

Everything you need.

Live speeds

See download, upload, and TCP latency in the menu bar. Click to cycle display modes without opening the app.

Per-network quotas

Set monthly or annual data limits per Wi-Fi network. Home, office, and hotspot tracked separately. Alerts at 80%, 90%, and 100%.

Usage analytics

A live 60-second speed chart, plus hourly and daily breakdowns for the current billing period and the one before.

Private by design

No accounts. No analytics SDK. No servers. Everything runs in Apple's App Sandbox — Quota cannot inspect your traffic.

Privacy

Private by design.

Quota reads OS-level byte counters. It never touches your traffic, stores anything in the cloud, or identifies you in any way.

No data collection

Quota reads OS counters. It never sees packet contents, websites you visit, or messages you send.

No accounts

No sign-in, no profile, no identifier. The app works without knowing who you are.

On-device only

All usage data lives in your Mac's sandbox. Delete the app and your data is gone — because we never had it.

FAQ

Questions.

Why does Quota need Location access?
macOS only reveals your current Wi-Fi network name (SSID) to apps with Location permission. Quota uses it solely to label usage per network, on-device. It's optional — the app works without it; networks just can't be told apart.
Does Quota see my browsing or traffic?
No. Quota reads aggregate byte counters from macOS. It cannot inspect traffic contents — no sites, no history, no messages. The App Sandbox enforces this at the OS level.
Why does it say “Latency (TCP)” instead of ping?
Apple's App Sandbox blocks raw ICMP pings, so Quota measures the time to open a TCP connection to a host of your choice (default 1.1.1.1). It's a reliable, privacy-respecting signal of responsiveness.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every feature is free. Tips through Apple's In-App Purchase system are entirely optional and unlock nothing.
